The best concert I have ever experienced is actually fairly recent. I could say that it was the last one I went to, the month before, in September. It was the tour called “El gusto es Nuestro”. A series of concerts through countries of Western Europe and Latin America this year, performed by four Spanish composers: Joan Manuel Serrat; Ana Belen; Victor Manuel; and Miguel Ríos. This was a very significant concert to me. Part of it is because of this tour took place also 20 years before, and my father and uncles assisted at that time the performance in the national stadium. I and my siblings grew up listening and singing their songs, and this year 2017, the artists came back to tour in commemoration of these 20 years, and, for us, everything that had happened in between.
It was an specially emotive concert. An spectacle with high sound quality, and a good stage. Through the three hours that the show lasted, they wander through songs of their personal repertoire; from the old concert; and from songs of two Chilean artists: Violeta Parra and Víctor Jara. As I have already said, it was a concert of very deep feelings. A experience to revisit and live again one and a thousand times. A concert that more than just evoke memories in the assistants, made feelings come out of every word, and music out of our collective experiences, like we came back in time to live what it was 20 years before: to become and re-encounter with our past and all the time that had passed -and experienced.
